Nexus Insurance Brokers kicked off 2014 in style, scooping the Personal Lines Broker of the Year Award at the MENA Insurance Awards.
Organised by the MENA Insurance Review, the high-profile awards are judged by an independent panel of experts and recognise the region’s top performing insurance players.
The award is the 13thsignificant industry accolade in seven years for Nexus Insurance Brokers, which is the GCC’s largest independent financial advisor.
“We are delighted to win Personal Lines Broker at the MENA Insurance Awards,” said Tarun Khanna, CEO, Nexus Insurance Brokers.
“There is a lot of competition in this sector and standards are continually improving, so awards of this nature are a worthy acknowledgement that we are on the right track. 2014 is set to be a big year for Nexus Insurance Brokers, as we ramp our recruitment drive across the region, seek to expand into new markets, and consolidate our leadership position wherever we can.”
Nexus Insurance Brokers recently reported a successful 2013; the company’s savings business was up 36% on 2012, the protection business up 31% and employee benefits increased by 28%.
“Nexus does not invest for the short-term. We are always looking ahead, and there is no reason why we cannot be in an additional 10 to 15 countries within the next decade,” added Khanna.
Nexus Group recently expanded its operations in Bahrain and entered the Kuwait market. The company also recently launched nexuscompare.com, the UAE’s most efficient, comprehensive and transparent insurance comparisons portal, which allows users to instantly compare and purchase cover.
Key to the company’s next phase of growth is a bid to recruit an additional 100 salespeople by 2015 to create a team of over 500, and a potential expansion drive into Asia.
Nexus Group’s reputation in the region is largely built on a long history of attracting and retaining some of the most talented consultants in the industry. This is supported by arguably the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region’s most rigorous and extensive consultant training programme.
